I have been blessed to do, the trips deep into the magic of Earth's power places, have been the most moving. My heart has been touched by the Ancestors – and that means everything to life, continuance, family, happiness and sacred intent.
For me, traveling all those years, leaving an offering of gratitude here and there, awakened and revealed information previously unknown. As my friend Katherine Cheshire, de-se-mana, once told me: "Shalako… Spirit Guardian, bring the Sacred Tablets out of hiding, bring people to these places, and tell the stories… then wait for the people to understand."
For the Love of the Earth shares my practice with the lands of sacred knowing, sharing, and waiting, and in some instances, I am still waiting. In sacred story, only the receiver can interpret the message, while a storyteller abides in honor, to wait, and smile when connection is made.
For the Love of the Earth is two stories symbolically entwined – through ancient myth and modern guardianship pilgrimages – for we are welcomed in our ceremonies.
