He took a long breath. He could decline, but had waited for this moment. I had come home to my knowing.
Slowly, he comes into me and takes his place. He settles carefully within me.
"I feel us," I breathe deeply.
His breathe merges with my own.
"Nakia," I say quietly, "I think it's time. Will you walk beside me?"
"Naylin," Nakia's vision overlaps my own, "I always have…"
I look out upon life, and see the memory.
"Yes," I remember, "and yet there is much for you to show me. I look to walking forward, knowing the steps as we take them.
